General Instructions

Introducing the Visual Search Experiment

This experiment is designed to measure how long it takes people to search for a visual target and decide whether the target is present or absent.

On each trial you will see a group of small colored shapes—blue squares, blue triangles, orange triangles, and sometimes a single orange square, which is the visual "target."

Your task is simple: You must search for the orange square, and press a key to indicate whether the target orange square is present or absent.
